ChordTake Terms of Use
These Terms govern your use of ChordTake, a MIDI chord capture, Rewind, editing, and export app for musicians and producers.
1. Acceptance
By downloading, accessing, or using ChordTake, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. App Purpose
ChordTake helps you trigger chord pads, capture recent MIDI input, create Takes, edit MIDI timing and voicing, import supported MIDI files, and export MIDI files for compatible music apps or DAWs. Results may vary depending on MIDI file structure, device performance, operating system behavior, and destination app compatibility.
3. Your Responsibilities
- Use the app only for lawful, personal, or professional music-production purposes.
- Make sure you have the rights to any MIDI files, musical material, compositions, recordings, or exported files you import, edit, save, or share.
- Review exported MIDI files before relying on them in a production, performance, release, client project, or commercial workflow.
- Keep your own backups of important Takes, MIDI files, and exported work.
- Use connected MIDI hardware, Bluetooth MIDI devices, headphones, speakers, and destination apps safely and according to their own instructions.
4. File Import, Export, and DAW Compatibility
ChordTake supports selected MIDI import and export workflows, including single-track, Type 1, and stem-style exports where available. We work to make exported files compatible with common DAWs and music apps, but we do not guarantee that every destination app will preserve track names, tempo, voicing, sustain, channels, or timing exactly as shown in ChordTake.
5. Purchases and Refunds
ChordTake may offer a one-time Lifetime purchase to unlock advanced export features, such as unlimited Type 1 exports, Stem Sets, and advanced export settings. The app may also provide limited free trials or free export paths as described in the app.
All billing, taxes, payment processing, cancellation rights, and refunds are handled by Apple through the App Store. We cannot process refunds directly. Please contact Apple Support for purchase or billing issues.
6. No Professional or Guaranteed Output Warranty
ChordTake is a creative utility. It is not a substitute for professional audio engineering review, legal clearance, copyright review, or manual quality control. You are responsible for evaluating whether generated or exported MIDI files meet your musical, technical, legal, and commercial requirements.
7. Apple App Store Terms
Your download and use of the app through the Apple App Store are also subject to Apple's applicable terms, including the Apple Standard End User License Agreement. You can review Apple's Standard EULA at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/.
8. Privacy
Your use of ChordTake is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how the app handles local MIDI data, Takes, imported files, exported files, app settings, StoreKit purchase state, and Apple platform services.
9. Intellectual Property
ChordTake, including its software, interface, design, branding, text, and original content, is owned by the developer or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of the app to you.
10. Availability and Changes
We may update, suspend, or discontinue the app or any feature at any time. We may also update these Terms when the app, platform rules, StoreKit configuration, third-party services, or legal requirements change. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Disclaimers
The app is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of uninterrupted operation, error-free performance, fitness for a particular purpose, exact MIDI compatibility, export availability, and destination app behavior.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost data, lost files, lost profits, project delays, DAW incompatibility, device issues, or service interruptions arising from your use of the app.
13. Termination
You may stop using ChordTake at any time. We may suspend or restrict access to features if required by law, platform rules, security needs, suspected fraud, abuse, or misuse of the app.
