Privacy Policy
HomeAssist is a local-first app. We do not require an account, operate an app data server, use advertising or analytics SDKs, or collect your home profile, maintenance plan, notes, or history.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how the HomeAssist iOS and iPadOS app ("HomeAssist," "we," "us," or "our") handles information. HomeAssist is provided by the developer identified on its Apple App Store product page.
2. Information Handled on Your Device
HomeAssist lets you create and manage information that may include:
- A user-defined home name, home type, home age range, climate selection, and selected home systems.
- Maintenance items, categories, due dates, recurrence rules, postponements, notification preferences, notes, specifications, and part numbers.
- Maintenance completion, skip, undo, and archive history.
- App preferences, onboarding state, and the locally cached status of your HomeAssist Solo purchase.
This information is processed and stored locally using Apple's on-device storage technologies. A limited projection of upcoming maintenance information is shared locally with the HomeAssist Widget through an Apple App Group so the widget can display your next item. We do not receive this information on developer-operated servers.
3. How HomeAssist Uses Information
The app uses locally stored information only to provide features you request, including generating maintenance suggestions, calculating due dates, showing your plan and history, scheduling local notifications, displaying widget content, applying free-plan limits, and preparing a data export.
4. Data Export and Deletion
- Export: You may use Settings > Export local data as JSON. The exported file goes only to the location or app you choose through the Apple share or file interface. After export, the destination you select controls that copy.
- Delete: You may use Settings > Delete all local data to remove your home profile, plan, notes, and history from the app on that device.
- Uninstall: Deleting the app removes its locally stored app container, subject to copies that may remain in backups, exported files, or other locations you control.
5. Notifications
If you enable maintenance notifications, HomeAssist asks iOS for notification permission and schedules reminders locally through Apple's notification service on your device. You can change notification permission in iOS Settings and reminder preferences in HomeAssist. Notification content may appear on the Lock Screen according to your device settings.
6. Purchases and Apple Services
HomeAssist Solo is offered as a non-consumable in-app purchase. Apple processes the transaction, payment information, purchase history, refunds, and restoration through the App Store and StoreKit. HomeAssist receives verified product and entitlement information needed to unlock the feature. We do not receive your payment card details and do not operate a purchase server.
Apple may also process app backups, App Store diagnostics, crash reports, or performance information according to your device, Apple ID, and privacy settings. Those Apple-controlled activities are governed by Apple's own privacy policies.
7. Backups
Depending on your Apple device and iCloud backup settings, Apple may include local app data in an encrypted device backup. We do not control or access your Apple backups. You can manage backups in your Apple account and device settings.
8. External Links
HomeAssist includes optional links to public maintenance and safety resources. Opening a link leaves HomeAssist and connects to the selected third-party website. That website may receive standard connection information and is governed by its own privacy policy. HomeAssist does not send your home profile, notes, or maintenance history with these links.
9. What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell or rent personal information.
- We do not use advertising SDKs.
- We do not track you across apps or websites.
- We do not use developer-operated analytics or telemetry services.
- We do not upload your home profile, plan, notes, or history to developer-operated servers.
10. Data Retention and Security
Local app data remains on your device until you delete it, delete the app, or restore or replace the device using a backup. HomeAssist relies on the iOS app sandbox and Apple platform protections. No method of storage is guaranteed to be completely secure, so you should protect your device and Apple ID and avoid entering highly sensitive information in free-form notes.
11. Children's Privacy
HomeAssist is a general-audience home maintenance utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Your Privacy Choices
Because we do not collect your app content on our servers, we do not maintain a server-side profile to access, correct, or delete. You control local content through the app's edit, export, and delete tools, and control notifications, backups, diagnostics, and App Store purchases through Apple settings.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when HomeAssist features, platform services, or legal requirements change. The updated policy will be posted at this URL with a revised date. Material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law.
