Terms of Use
HomeAssist helps you organize home maintenance. It provides general planning information, not emergency, inspection, engineering, legal, or other professional advice.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the HomeAssist iOS and iPadOS app ("HomeAssist" or the "App"). By downloading, accessing, or using HomeAssist, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Your license to the App is also subject to Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Apple Standard EULA"). If these Terms conflict with the Apple Standard EULA regarding your license to use the App, the Apple Standard EULA controls.
2. App Purpose
HomeAssist is a local-first planning tool that can suggest common maintenance tasks, calculate schedules, send local reminders, record maintenance history, and display upcoming items in a widget. Suggestions are general information and may not fit your property, equipment, climate, condition, warranty, or local requirements.
3. Safety and Professional Advice
- HomeAssist is not a substitute for manufacturer instructions, product manuals, warranties, building codes, permits, inspections, or advice from qualified professionals.
- Do not rely on HomeAssist to detect hazards, equipment failures, leaks, fires, carbon monoxide, electrical faults, structural problems, or other emergencies.
- For an emergency or suspected immediate danger, leave the area when appropriate and contact local emergency services or a qualified professional.
- Do not perform work that requires a license, permit, specialized training, protective equipment, or access to hazardous systems unless you are legally qualified and can do so safely.
- You are responsible for verifying schedules and completing maintenance safely. A reminder being absent, late, dismissed, or marked complete does not mean a task is unnecessary or a condition is safe.
4. Your Responsibilities
You agree to provide information you are entitled to use, keep your device and Apple ID secure, review maintenance recommendations before acting, maintain your own records where appropriate, and use the App in compliance with applicable law and third-party terms.
5. Free Plan and HomeAssist Solo
HomeAssist may offer a free plan with up to five active maintenance items. Items outside the active limit may remain stored in a paused state with their notes and history.
HomeAssist Solo is a non-consumable, one-time in-app purchase that unlocks unlimited active maintenance items in supported versions of HomeAssist. It is not an auto-renewing subscription. The App Store displays the applicable price and purchase details before you authorize payment.
6. Purchases, Restoration, and Refunds
- Apple processes purchases using the Apple ID and payment method associated with your App Store account.
- We do not receive or store your payment card details.
- You can use Restore Purchase in HomeAssist to ask Apple to restore an eligible HomeAssist Solo purchase made with the applicable Apple ID.
- Availability across devices, countries, Family Sharing groups, or future platform versions is subject to Apple services, App Store rules, and continued compatibility.
- Refund eligibility and payment disputes are handled by Apple under its policies and applicable law.
7. Local Data, Exports, and Backups
HomeAssist is designed to keep your home profile, maintenance plan, notes, and history on your device. You are responsible for maintaining any records you need and for protecting exported files. Device failure, deletion, operating-system changes, backup settings, or software errors may result in data loss. See the Privacy Policy for details.
8. Notifications and Widget
Notifications and widget timelines depend on Apple platform scheduling, permissions, system limits, device state, and your settings. They may be delayed, suppressed, or unavailable. Do not use HomeAssist notifications as the only reminder for safety-critical inspections, alarms, legal deadlines, warranty requirements, or urgent work.
9. Third-Party Information and Links
The App may reference public resources, agencies, manufacturers, or third-party websites. Those references are provided for convenience and do not constitute endorsement or a guarantee of accuracy, completeness, availability, or suitability. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and policies.
10. Ownership and License Restrictions
HomeAssist, including its software, interface, branding, original text, scheduling logic, and design, is owned by the developer or applicable licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to the Apple Standard EULA, you may use the App for personal, lawful purposes. You may not copy, sell, sublicense, distribute, interfere with, or reverse engineer the App except where applicable law expressly permits.
11. Acceptable Use
You may not use HomeAssist to violate law or third-party rights; attempt unauthorized access; introduce malicious code; disrupt the App or Apple services; bypass purchase controls; or misrepresent HomeAssist recommendations as a professional inspection, certification, or safety guarantee.
12. Availability and Changes
We may update, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue App features to improve HomeAssist, maintain compatibility, address security or legal requirements, or reflect product changes. We do not guarantee that every feature, suggestion, source link, or platform service will always remain available.
13. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HomeAssist is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, or error-free operation. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some exclusions may not apply to you.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; loss of data, property, profits, or use; missed maintenance; equipment failure; property damage; personal injury; or costs of substitute services arising from or related to HomeAssist. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits your non-waivable consumer rights.
15. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using and delete HomeAssist at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the App or particular features where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, platform requirements, or material misuse. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will remain effective.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms when HomeAssist, Apple platform services, or legal requirements change. Updated Terms will be posted at this URL with a revised date. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
17. Apple Relationship
Apple is not responsible for HomeAssist or its content, maintenance, support, warranties, or product claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of the Apple Standard EULA and may enforce it as provided there.
